Dear xufamixerxs friends:
This January 2015 it was exactly 3 years ago that we came up with the idea of Chufamix in a lost town in Teruel.
Then came a deep reflection about whether to develop that small idea, or if not, due to the tremendous personal and professional hassle it entailed (and even more so in a country, Spain, which no matter what they say, currently only supports its large companies).
On the other hand, it hurt us that it didn’t see the light of day because we knew how much Chufamix was going to help diverse people live in a simpler and healthier way, so finally, we decided to “take the plunge.”
Without even remotely knowing the potential of our invention, we recorded a series of videos over two mornings on the terrace of a tigernut drying plant in Alboraya first, and then in our hamlet in a town in Álava.
Chufamix in the old port of Stockholm (Norway), 2013.
Once we found some herbal shops at home, we went in 2013 in a van through Europe to look for clients who were salespeople in the 60s, eating and sleeping in our thousand-star hotel, our van “Mirutxo”.
We started going to organic and vegan fairs throughout Europe, and with the contributions of all of you, we learned a lot of things.
We started our blog lechevegetal.com to put all these things that we were learning there, but over time we have seen that this is not enough.
There are people starting to give workshops on “vegetable milks” in many countries around the world, and we needed “advanced video-workshops”, or rather, a…
…Milk Training Course Vegetables.
Chufamix workshop at the Vegan Fest in London, 2013.
We recently went to a fair in Melbourne (Australia), and from there we flew to South Asia to visit our distributor, and there, in the middle of the monsoon, we recorded this Training Course on Vegetable Milks in 4 languages.
Due to the monsoon, the sun went from maximum luminosity to the most terrifying darkness in a few seconds, or a devilish wind arose or the universal flood began suddenly, without warning.
The animals were also an active part of the recording. Going to clean the chufamix after each workshop was an adventure because then the roosters and wild dogs took advantage of the seeds, sweeteners, etc.
The chickens pecked or disconnected the microphone cable, forcing several entire workshops to be recorded from scratch. Even a giant iguana joined the party, happily sipping on the “gula malaka” (a type of local sweetener).
Thus, some videos are so damaged that they need to be recorded again, such as the entire workshops in Valencian/Catalan, and several chapters in English.
However, we have managed to save a large part of the videos, and we will complete the rest at home, between Valencia, Teruel and Vitoria.
But we are proud to have managed to bring together all the material collected during these 3 years and create a free online course on plant milks, for all those people interested in continuing to learn a little more every day about the amazing world of seeds and their juices.
It is our gift for Chufamix’s 3rd anniversary. We hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
