Pistachio and oat milk iced coffee

Pistachio and oat milk iced coffee is one of my favorite drinks on hot summer days. Adding pistachio and oat milk in the coffee makes the iced coffee a super tasty and nutritious drink. I share this recipe to invite you to experiment with oat milk or any other homemade plant milk in your iced coffee.

Is oat milk good in iced coffee?

Homemade iced coffee does not need hot milk, it’s easier and tastier using room temperature milk. Iced coffe it’s a very simple recipe that works perfectly with any plant milk we have on hand.

The pistachio and oat milk that I propose in this recipe is ideal for summer. Both seeds contain vitamins B and E, excellent skin protectors and regenerators against the UVA rays.

The sunflower seeds, peanuts and some nuts as almonds, hazelnuts and walnuts also stand out for their properties to prevent UVA rays. So we have different options to make iced coffe, all of them delicious.

I always recommend adding a little oatmeal to the nut milk to make it creamier.

Ingredients:

50 g oat flakes

50 g pistachios

800 ml water

2 pitted dates

1 pinch of salt

4 coffe ice cubes (minimum)

1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

Preparation :

Preparation time: 10 minutes

First of all prepare coffee, place the coffee in an ice cube mold and put it in the freezer. If you don’t have an ice cube mold, let the coffee cool and freeze it in a plastic bag placed horizontally. It can be easily cut into pieces by giving it a few blows wrapped in a kitchen towel. It will be the easiest way to make coffee slush.

On the other hand, prepare the oat and pistachio milk. Place all the ingredients in the Vegan Milker filter and blend with a blender for 1 minute. Let the mixture soak 5 minutes and strain the pulp using the mortar.

Prepare a glass with the coffee iced cubes and add the oat and pistachio milk. Ready to enjoy your coffee moment!

Alternatives and tips

  • The coffee iced cubes for can be substituted by regular ice cubes. Also can make the ice cubes by freezing a tea or any other infusion that you like.
  • Mix well the coffee and the milk at room temperature. Avoid the use of hot coffee or milk so as not to degrade the creamy texture of the mixture.
  • If you don’t have pistachios, you can substitute them with peanuts, almonds or any other seed you have on hand or find more accessible.
